Is Your School Eligible for Funding?

Eligibility for the Connect the Classroom programme has specific criteria. Schools currently receiving targeted intervention through the regional improvement for standards and excellence (RISE) programme will typically be eligible. Additionally, schools whose current Wi-Fi provision falls below the DfE’s Wi-Fi connectivity standards may also receive funding. The DfE typically contacts eligible schools directly, often sending an invitation or confirmation of eligibility via email to the Head Teacher or Business Manager.

If you believe your school might be eligible, it is advisable to check with your senior leadership team.

** If your school does not meet the eligibility requirements, we would love to discuss other options, including network as a service to help spread your infrastructure costs over multiple years.

What Does the Connect the Classroom Funding Cover?

The DfE provides funding for a next generation Wi-Fi solution within your school. At this point in time, we believe the funding covers:

    • Wi-Fi Access Points: To the latest Wi-Fi standard for optimal speed and performance.
    • Fibre Connectivity: Between the core cabinet and any edge cabinets for enhanced performance.
    • CAT6a Cabling: For any new Wi-Fi access points to ensure optimal connection speeds.

We are still waiting for confirmation of the following areas:

    • Network Switches: To support the increased bandwidth and demands of a modern wireless network.
    • Data Cabinets: To house modern connectivity equipment.
