Attended by nearly 70 IT and senior business managers from schools throughout the south, Medhurst’s latest education seminar held at Microsoft’s Reading HQ, saw presentations from leading ICT education professionals at Microsoft, HP and Training Associates.
Medhurst’s latest education seminar focused on Microsoft’s System Centre 2012 and how it is being used in schools to help them manage the various physical and virtual IT environments across datacenters, client computers and devices.
Education and technology specialists from Microsoft also demonstrated how Lync is providing a unified communications infrastructure for instant messaging (IM), voice and video calling and Web conferencing both within the school and externally. Delegates also learnt about Microsoft’s School in a Box – a new concept for ICT delivery within schools and supports the idea that there is an empowering alternative for school leaders in how they use IT to deliver next generation learning experiences.
Senior members of the HP Wireless and Networking team gave presentations about the latest solutions for schools and how they will be used to deliver next generation learning experiences in schools and colleges.
In addition, guest speakers Lee Setford and Richard Dennett from Brookfield School provided an overview of their positive experiences of using Microsoft’s System Center to manage their physical and virtual IT while Rich Markey at Havant Academy demonstrated how Microsoft’s Lync and Unified Communications is being used at Havant Academy.
